DFAC Falcons 2011/2012 Competitive Team Tryouts

Tryouts for the DFAC Falcons 2011/2012 Competitive basketball program will be held the week of August 15th - 20th, 2011.  The tryout schedule for each age group is listed below.  All players are encouraged to attend both tryout sessions for their grade.  Players must be currently in the grade they tryout for.  There will be a $10 fee for tryouts.  Each player will receive a T-Shirt.

3rd - 4th Grade Boys
Wednesday, August 17th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at STMS
Saturday, August 20th from 3:00pm - 4:30pm at STMS

5th - 6th Grade Boys
Tuesday, August 16th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at STMS
Saturday, August 20th from 1:00pm - 2:30pm at STMS

7th - 8th Grade Boys
Monday, August 15th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at STMS
Saturday, August 20th from 11:00am - 12:30pm at STMS

High School Boys
Thursday, August 18th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at STMS
Saturday, August 20th from 9:00am - 10:30am at STMS

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time to check in.

Do not bring a basketball, all equipment will be provided by DFAC.

Do bring plenty of water!

DFAC will form teams for the following age groups:

  • Boys 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Grades

    DFAC Falcons Competitive Basketball

    DFAC will provide "team training" sessions in addition to normal team practices.  These training sessions will be run by league approved trainers including members of the boys and girls High School coaching staffs at Cactus Shadows High School.

    Our coaching and training training methodologies will focus on developing basketball fundamentals along with a focus on both the physical and emotional development of all players.

    The Desert Foothills Developmental/Competitive program was launched in February of 2002. DFAC added this program to supplement the recreational program and to fill a need in the Cave Creek area, giving talented girls and boys ages 9 to 14 an opportunity to play competitive basketball in local, regional and possible national tournaments against competition of age peers as well as games against teams from other basketball leagues and Club teams in the Phoenix area.

    Our goal is to improve the skills of the players in our area and to provide a feeder system to Cactus Shadows High School.  We feel that the DFAC Recreational and Developmental/Competitive programs together will accomplish this ultimate goal.
