2nd Grade, 3rd Grade and 4th Grade Boys Competitive Basketball
For any 3rd-4th grade boys interested in competitive basketball, DFAC will hold a
special tryout on March 9th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm to fill a couple open spots
on the DFAC Falcons 3rd-4th grade competitive teams and possibly form another 3rd
grade team.
We have also had lots of inquiries about a 2nd grade competitive team so we will
also invite current 2nd grade players interested in playing spring competitive basketball
to attend the tryouts from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. If we have enough interest we will form a
2nd grade team as well.
The tryouts will be at Sonoran Trails Middle School and players may check in at 5:45pm.
Fees for the competitive program run $100 per month for coaching, training and gym fees
and $125 for league fees.
Sonoran Trails Middle School (STMS) is located at 5555 E. Pinnacle Vista Drive.
It is about a 1/2 Mile East of Tatum off Jomax at the corner of Pinnacle Vista Drive and
56th Street.
The Falcon program focuses on player development, with
emphasis on teamwork and sportsmanship.
The Desert Foothills Developmental/Competitive program was launched in February of 2002.
DFAC added this program to supplement the recreational program and to fill a need in the
Cave Creek area, giving talented girls and boys ages 9 to 14 an opportunity to play
competitive basketball in local, regional and possible national tournaments against
competition of age peers as well as games against teams from other basketball leagues
and Club teams in the Phoenix area.
Our goal is to improve the skills of the players in our area by playing as much
basketball. We feel that the DFAC Recreational and Developmental/Competitive
programs together will accomplish this ultimate goal.
